KOTA BARU – PAS expects to finalise its list of candidates for the upcoming six state elections in a week or two.

Its deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said the party’s Syura Ulama Council would meet this week to finalise the lists obtained from the six states.

"We requested each constituency to send at least two names. The PAS Syura Ulama Council will vet the candidates in terms of shariah qualifications, such as whether they have committed major sins, or done anything that tarnishes the party’s name.

“We want people who are honest and capable of carrying out their responsibilities,” he told reporters after the launch of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) election machinery for the Kubang Kerian parliamentary constituency here last night.

Also present were Kelantan Bersatu chairman Datuk Kamaruddin Md Nor and Pahang PN chairman Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah. – Bernama, July 7, 2023
