KUALA TERENGGANU – The Health Ministry will meet with the Election Commission over the need to implement Covid-19 standard operating procedures on polling day.
Its minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa said so far the ministry was satisfied with all party supporters as they complied with all set SOPs.
“We hope that all voters, especially in the six states will comply with the SOPs including on voting day.
“If they have symptoms, voters are asked to wear a face mask when they come to the polling centre,” she said after the announcement of the candidates contesting in the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary by-election and Ladang state seat candidate at Kuala Terengganu City Council here, today.
She also said that all candidates from Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) have passed their health screenings.
“We not only ensure that the candidate is credible to bring hope as set by the party and the unity government component, but the health aspect is also given priority before being nominated to compete.
“A total of 107 BN candidates and 138 PH candidates who are eligible to contest have passed the health screening process,” she said. – The Vibes, July 29, 2023
