PETALING JAYA – PAS will retain its Kedah and Terengganu menteri besar should it remain in power in these states upon the conclusion of the state elections tomorrow.

Party secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan in a statement today said this would still depend on the rakyat’s mandate at the polls and the consent of the states’ respective sultans.

This would mean Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor would remain as Kedah menteri besar should he win the Jeneri state seat.

Sanusi is also Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) election director for the state elections.

As for Terengganu, Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar remains the party’s choice for MB.

Meanwhile, Kelantan is set to witness a change should PAS and its PN umbrella retain the state.

The leadership has agreed to a change in Kelantan’s menteri besar and deputy menteri besar combination, Takiyuddin said after a meeting in Rusila, Terengganu chaired by PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.

“One will be a spiritual leader while the other a technocrat,” he said without divulging any names.

“PAS calls upon voters to vote tomorrow by choosing a leader who is concerned, clean and will care for people’s wellbeing from PN,” Takiyuddin said. – The Vibes, August 11, 2023
