PETALING JAYA – A ginger cat was rescued from the site of the recent Elmina plane crash in Sg Buloh, it has emerged.
Speaking to The Vibes, veterinarian Dr Zul Erwan Azmi said the Health Ministry’s ambulance team informed him that they found “Oyen” at the crash site.
They then transported the cat in the ambulance and administered basic treatment, putting a bandage on the cat’s injury, after which they sent him to Dr Zul for further treatment.
“Maybe Oyen was roaming around in the area. He wasn’t directly impacted (by the crash)...otherwise he wouldn’t have made it.
“Most likely he was hit by debris, or he jumped and sustained the injuries,” Dr Zul said.
He informed that Oyen has a skin tear of about 15cm from the top to the bottom of his ribs.
“He was traumatised and scared. But this morning, he is much more stable and he is eating.”
According to Dr Zul, Oyen appears to be a stray male cat who has yet to be neutered.
The cat continues to be under the care of Dr Zul and his dedicated team at his veterinary clinic in Sg Buloh.
In an Instagram post, Dr Zul Erwan also thanked the health personnel for helping to rescue the cat.
