KUALA LUMPUR – Wilayah Persekutuan Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) chief P. Prabakaran has called on the management team of TOT United Futsal Academy to come forward to resolve the issues faced by their players amicably.
On March 17, Nor Farah Syakina Mohd Khalil who is one of the players of the Kuala Lumpur-based women’s futsal team lodged a police report against the club manager Mazuan Abdul Malik and coach Mohd Haris Fadillah Supyan for breach of contract.
Fifteen others were also named as complainants in the report, claiming mistreatment as they have not been receiving their RM1,400 allowance.
On top of that, they were evicted out of their accommodation whilst participating in the Malaysia Premier Futsal League (MPFL) 2022 in Shah Alam on March 8 because the management failed to foot the bill.
In a statement, Prabakaran said that he will try to help the players by providing them free legal aid to take legal action if needed.
“Most of them are still young and they had taken a month off to play in this tournament, but instead, they did not get paid as promised.
“I expect the management to come forward to discuss this matter amicably with the players and resolve the crisis that befell them without having to make any more excuses.
“I have also asked the Football Association of Malaysia to take note of the misconduct committed by the club management so that no players are oppressed in this matter,” he said.
The police report also stated that the players had to fork out their own money to pay for transportation costs, insurance, and player registration fees although the club had promised to bear all expenses as stipulated in their contract.
The players have been unable to reach out to Mazuan and Haris ever since. – The Vibes, March 25, 2022.
