Para archers bring home two silver, two bronze medals from Phuket

KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysian archers concluded the Phuket Asia Para Archery Tournament 2022 in Thailand with two silver and two bronze medals today.

S. Suresh, the 2019 world champion, could only finish second in the world ranking event after losing 6-0 to Thai Hanreuchai Netsiri in the men’s recurve final.

Wiro Julin-Nur Jannaton Abdul Jalil contributed Malaysia’s second silver after going down 151-138 to Thais Praphaporn Homjanthuek-Comsan Singpirom in the mixed team compound final.

Wiro and Nur Jannaton, meanwhile, finished third in the men and women’s individual compound events respectively after defeating Thai archers in the bronze medal match-ups.

Wiro edged Phromruethon Tanakhan 128-115 while Nur Jannaton overcame Rhomshalee Katemongkon 131-122. – Bernama, March 28, 2022
