SEPANG – It has been nearly a month since the first match of the 2022 Qatar World Cup kicked off on November 21, and the tournament is sadly coming to an end.
Football fans around the world will be glued to the screen tonight – those who could not afford to watch the game live in Doha – to witness which of the two-time winners France and Argentina will claim their third title.
As for Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh, she has set her hopes high on her favourite team, France.
“I support France, I could not say why specifically, but I just do,” she said.
“I have been supporting them since previous World Cup editions. I guess you could say I am faithful and consistent (with my choice).
“I expect France to win,” she added.
Yeoh said this when met at the National Youth Premier Awards 2022 held at Sama Sama Hotel in Sepang last night.
She shared that she hopes the World Cup final match will end in full time so it would have “no extra time and no penalty shootout”.
“Everyone can have enough rest to go to work the next day,” she quipped.
Argentina won the tournament in 1978 and 1986, while France lifted the trophy in 1998 and 2018. – The Vibes, December 18, 2022
