KUALA LUMPUR – Only 59,000 tickets will be sold for the upcoming AFF Cup’s first leg semi-finals match between Malaysia and Thailand at Bukit Jalil National Stadium.
In a statement, Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) secretary-general Noor Azman Rahman said this is because 21,000 seats need to be left empty as they will be blocked by the stage structure for the upcoming Jay Chou concert that will be held at the stadium on January 15.
“The situation is inevitable. FAM and the Malaysia Stadium Corporation (PSM) have tried their best to find solutions to ensure the Harimau Malaya squad’s action throughout the AFF Cup, instead of it being held at other smaller capacity stadiums,” he said.

Bukit Jalil National Stadium has a full capacity of 87,411.
FAM also announced that the ticket price for the semi-final match this Saturday will remain the same as the group stage matches, with open tickets at RM30, premium tickets at RM50, grandstand tickets at RM60, and tickets for children between 6 and 12 at RM5.
“The decision to retain the ticket prices was made unanimously after FAM president Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin chaired a special meeting with the FAM executive committee at the stadium right after the match against Singapore last night.

“It is a mark of appreciation to Harimau Malaya supporters who have given solid support to the team throughout the AFF Cup campaign so far,” said Noor Azman.
During the match against Singapore last night at the national stadium, 65,147 spectators flocked to watch Malaysia thrash neighbours Singapore 4-1 and book their spot in the AFF Cup semi-finals.
Meanwhile, FAM also advised supporters to be wary of purchasing tickets from other sources besides www.tickethotline.com.my.
“This is because during yesterday’s match against Singapore, FAM found out that there were counterfeit ticket sales.
