US PRESIDENT Donald Trump has publicly called for Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell to “resign immediately,” citing allegations of political bias and dishonesty towards the Senate.

In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump shared an article referencing a call by Federal Housing Finance Agency figure Bill Pulte for Congress to investigate Powell for “political bias” and allegedly misleading the US Senate.

“Jerome Powell should resign immediately,” Bernama-Xinhua cited Trump writing, echoing past criticism he has levelled at the Fed Chair for refusing to lower interest rates during his presidency.
