Global coronavirus cases top 93 million

MOSCOW – The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases worldwide has surpassed 93 million, reported the Sputnik news agency.

Citing data from the United States’ Johns Hopkins University, it said there are 93,018,040 coronavirus infections across the globe as at 0120 GMT today.

More than 1.99 million people have died of the disease.

The World Health Organisation declared a pandemic on March 11 last year.

The largest caseloads have been registered in the US, India and Brazil. – Bernama, January 15, 2021
