KUALA LUMPUR – Leading Southeast Asian lifestyle tea brand Tealive is poised to enter the Cambodian market, with an eye to setting up 25 outlets there over five years.
Brand owner Loob Holding Sdn Bhd has signed a master franchise agreement with HSC Group, Cambodia’s largest food-and-beverage player.
In a statement, Loob said Cambodia will be the eighth market after Malaysia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Brunei, the Philippines, Australia and the United Kingdom.
Loob founder and chief executive Bryan Loo said HSC is a good fit for the Tealive brand, as the latter company is already the “custodian” of various international brands in the F&B industry.
“On our part, we’re bringing in the latest Tealive 3.0 format that meets new-normal requirements and more, like contactless ordering and payment, drive-through and drive-in models, coupled with the full range of Tealive Eats snacks.”
Loob said Tealive’s first Cambodian outlet will cover almost 280 sq m and feature dine-in facilities with a “live entertainment section”, to be situated in a choice location in Phnom Penh.
HSC owner Oknha Sok Hong said the timing is ideal, as Cambodians are now ready to accept “modern tea culture”, with various global brands having entered the market over the years.
“We’re both proud and excited to introduce Tealive to Cambodians, as the brand’s positioning of affordable luxury and innovative products is exactly what young Cambodians want.
“With HSC’s local experience, we make a great team to bring this leading lifestyle tea brand for Cambodians to enjoy.”
The company currently manages international F&B brands including Paris Baguette, Crystal Jade Restaurant, Burger King and 100 Plus, besides retail and cosmetics brands. – Bernama, March 3, 2021
