MELAKA – Melaka will establish an innovation bank, Bank Inovasi Melaka, in October to collect research products with potential to be highlighted and commercialised in the market.

Melaka Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Communications executive councillor Fairul Nizam Roslan said the setting up of the innovation bank would also involve cooperation from innovation-related companies, higher education institutions, and local authorities.

“Bank Inovasi Melaka will be a platform to commercialise innovation and design products produced by any researcher in the state, including school students, institutions of higher learning, government departments and agencies, as well as the private sector.

“It will also help to check the validity and authenticity of a product before it is taken for patenting,” he told reporters after appearing as a guest on the Apa Kabau YB segment on Melaka FM at the Melaka Broadcasting Department, Jalan Taming Sari here today.

Meanwhile, he said his committee was now preparing for the implementation of Kampung Digital, the first initiative in the country to improve the management of population and village administration systems. – Bernama, June 1, 2023
