MUSIC Mountain, an online music education platform has launched the first music learning app and portal for drums in the country. This new and one-of-a-kind platform allows the user to learn to play the drums through a structured video-on-demand course. The lessons are all taught online as this provides users the flexibility to learn from their computers and also on mobile devices at their own time and pace.

Music Mountain caters to all types of users from beginners to the intermediate level. The course is also suitable for users who do not have any musical background and who would like to take up drums as their first musical instrument. On the Music Mountain platform, users will be introduced to a series of structured videos focusing on various beats and fills.

The course also caters to intermediate learners with lessons on drum notation, advanced beats, fills and techniques. These videos are crafted with the aim of making learning drums easy and at the same time providing users with a fun experience. Upon completing the first level, users will be able to play their first beat and their first song.

As with any learnings, feedback is crucial for improvement and successful progression. As such, the Music Mountain platform has a review function for users to submit recordings of their video performances on playing the drums. The team of educators at Music Mountain will personally review these video performances and provide feedback as this is a fundamental value of the course.

On top of that, the platform also features play-along tracks specially composed for the Music Mountain community. This allows users to jam together with the tracks that will help enhance learning and having fun along the way. Users can expect new and fresh content on a regular basis as the platform grows together with the users, making learning drums a continuous journey.

Music Mountain’s drum educators are experienced drummers in the industry including cofounder, Rudy Malik (from the rock bands Pop Shuvit and Project EAR), Jimmy Tan (Tempered Mental and Prasasti) and Ryan Lee Bhaskaran (Trophy Knives and Bihzhu). With their decades of experience in drumming and performance, they bring a wealth of knowledge to the platform.

We also intend to bring in a variety of drummers within the Asia region to the platform to share their knowledge and inspire more musicians to follow in their footsteps.”

Intan Razak, Co-Founder and COO of Music Mountain added, “This is a big day for us as we roll out a very carefully crafted course that everyone can enjoy. The course is ever expanding and there is always something new to learn when you are playing the drums. I can’t wait to see how the course enriches people’s lives and gives them joy.”

Music Mountain is a subscription-based platform providing users with the flexibility to learn drums at anytime and anywhere. Subscription starts at US$17 (RM72) for a monthly option or US$138 for a yearly subscription that provides greater value and savings.

The Music Mountain app is now available in the iOS app store and Google Play store. The first 100 subscribers will receive limited Music Mountain merchandise. – The Vibes, December 10, 2021
