THE Meet Global MICE Congress (MGMC), scheduled for Dec 16 and 17 at the World Trade Centre Moscow, is expected to attract more than 3,000 business travel and MICE professionals from over 40 countries.

According to the organisers, about 70% of attendees will be C-suite executives. More than 200 hosted buyers are also expected, including decision-makers from China, India, Southeast Asia, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Latin America, Africa and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

The programme will include scheduled business-to-business meetings involving more than 150 suppliers, allowing Malaysian companies to introduce their services to potential clients and explore partnerships in overseas markets.

Anastasia Popova, head of the Business Tourism Development Department at the Moscow City Tourism Committee, said Malaysian participation was important to the congress, describing the country as an emerging MICE destination.

She said the event would give Malaysian industry representatives a platform to showcase their capabilities and establish connections with international counterparts.

This year’s programme will cover the business and operational challenges of the MICE industry, with sessions on financial sustainability, digital technology, market expansion and crisis management.

Under the theme The Anatomy of Success in MICE: From Ideas and Tools to Tangible Results, discussions will examine the different stages of business event management, from planning and execution to post-event assessment.

Moscow is also positioning its range of event venues as part of the appeal for international organisers.

The city has more than 150 venues within its business events ecosystem, including museums, historic estates, theatres and landmarks that can be incorporated into corporate programmes.

Foreign delegates can also apply for a Russian e-visa, which organisers say will simplify travel arrangements.

Organised by the Moscow City Tourism Committee, MGMC brings together MICE industry representatives from BRICS countries, the Global South and other international markets.

Malaysian industry professionals can register through the official MGMC website at https://business.russpass.ru/en/projects-events/meet-global-mice-congress/mgmc-2026. - November 3, 2026
