AS the balik kampung rush kicks into high gear, a TikTok user has shared the 23-hour ordeal she endured making the trip home for Raya last year.

Sue_haniey said she left Puchong, Selangor about 6am on the eve of Hari Raya and only reached her home in Kelantan about 5am the next day.

During her solo journey, she said, she suffered heat and stress over the prospect of running out of petrol while caught in back-to-back traffic.

Fortunately for her, someone had taken the opportunity to make some money by selling plastic jugs of petrol by the side of the highway.

"Though the price was steep, it was a lifeline that allowed me to continue my journey to the next fuel station, which was in Gua Musang," wrote Sue_haniey, who bought a canister for RM50.

Her post quickly went viral and led to many other Malaysians sharing their balik kampung adventures.

Maaysians were also amused that there was someone selling petrol along the highway. – The Vibes, April 8, 2024
