POLICE in Port Dickson detained a married couple after their 20-year-old daughter lodged a police report claiming her father had repeatedly raped her over the last eight years.

Port Dickson police chief Aidi Sham Mohamed said the victim also alleged that she had given birth twice following the incidents.

One child was three-years-old and the other died shortly after birth.

The victim lodged the report at 11pm on May 1.

“We received a report from the 20-year-old woman claiming she had been raped by her father since she was 12-years-old.

“Initial investigations revealed that the incidents occurred from 2016 till the latest one this year,” he said in a statement.

He said the incidents allegedly took place in the victim’s room in Kg Chuah, Port Dickson.

Aidi said although the victim had informed her mother about the incidents, her pleas were ignored.

Police arrested the couple on May 3 and initial probes revealed that the couple had drug-related criminal records.

They are being remanded until May 8 to assist investigations under Section 376B of the Penal Code for incest, which carries a jail term of between 10 and 30 years and whipping upon conviction. – The Vibes, May 5, 2024
