Medical screenings have revealed that 13 among hundreds of children who were rescued from welfare homes were sodomised, says Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain. – The Vibes file pic, September 13, 2024.

THIRTEEN of the hundreds of children rescued from shelter homes in Selangor and Negri Sembilan were allegedly sodomised.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said medical screenings confirmed the abuse. Four children were initially thought to have been abused but more was revealed as screenings continued.

"Upon further screenings, we identified nine others," Razarudin said..

Police are screening 392 children, while 10 autistic, disabled, and sick children have been handed over to the Welfare Department.

Investigations have been launched into four men under Section 14 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.

On Wednesday, 171 people were arrested in raids on welfare homes believed to be linked to Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings. – September 13, 2024.
