MALAYSIA and Thailand are dedicated to achieving mutual success, said Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

In a Facebook update, the Prime Minister shared that he had a phone conversation with his Thai counterpart, Paetongtarn Shinawatra, where they addressed several important matters affecting both nations.

Topics included border concerns, particularly at Sungai Golok, where the Thai government has pledged funding for post-flood development projects.

They also talked about enhancing cooperation on water flow management to reduce flood risks and new initiatives for coastal protection and flood mitigation.

Additionally, they discussed the peace dialogue process in southern Thailand, including the appointment of a new chief negotiator.

In a different post, Anwar highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration between the Federal and state governments for the benefit of the people.

He emphasised this point during meetings with various state leaders, including Perlis Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli and Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor.

He reminded them that both short and long-term plans should prioritise the interests of the people, who are eager for development while adhering to humanitarian principles. Governance should be just, fair, and transparent.

Anwar also mentioned that he received an official invitation from the Perlis Menteri Besar for the Silver Jubilee Celebration of His Royal Highness Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail, set for April 17, 2025. - March 7, 2025
