Dr Zaliha, Fahmi among 32 honourees at FT Day awards ceremony

MINISTER in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Dr Zaliha Mustafa, and Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil, were among the 32 individuals honoured with Federal Territory awards, decorations, and medals at a prestigious ceremony held in conjunction with Federal Territory Day.

The investiture ceremony, graced by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, took place at the Balairong Seri in Istana Negara today. Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, the Queen of Malaysia, was also in attendance.

Dr Zaliha, alongside Datuk Noridah Abdul Rahim, Director-General of the Federal Territories Department, received the Darjah Kebesaran Seri Mahkota Wilayah (SMW), which carries the title of Datuk Seri. Fahmi Fadzil was awarded the Darjah Kebesaran Panglima Mahkota Wilayah (PMW), granting him the title of Datuk.

Among the recipients of the PMW award were several prominent figures, including Syed Hamadah Syed Othman, Group Managing Director and CEO of Lembaga Tabung Haji; Education Director-General Azman Adnan; Kuala Lumpur High Court Judge Hayatul Akmal Abdul Aziz; and Istana Negara Legal Advisor Zulharry Abdul Rashid.

Additionally, six individuals received the Darjah Johan Mahkota Wilayah (JMW), five were awarded the Kesatria Mahkota Wilayah (KMW), four received the Ahli Mahkota Wilayah (AMW), and six were honored with the Pangkuan Mahkota Wilayah (PPW) medal.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, and other Cabinet ministers were also present at the hour-long ceremony.

Bernama cited, in her speech, Dr Zaliha expressed heartfelt gratitude for Sultan Ibrahim’s honor in awarding the 32 individuals.

“Indeed, His Majesty’s guidance and wisdom will continue to be a guiding principle for all of us,” she said, while also praying for His Majesty’s well-being and the health of the royal family. – March 7, 2025
