THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today recorded a statement from the doctor treating former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

MACC wants to understand if his health condition is serious enough to justify the delays in the investigation and determine exactly what illness or health issues he is facing.

According to reports in Berita Harian, Ismail Sabri had previously postponed several interview sessions with the corruption watchdog due to health issues.

The Bera Member of Parliament was scheduled to be questioned by the graft busters at their Putrajaya headquarters today after he was named as a suspect in a money laundering probe.

The doctor's statement was taken at a hospital in the Klang Valley at 10am.

MACC was informed that Ismail Sabri had been given a medical certificate (MC) until next Wednesday, March 12.

The former prime minister had also missed his meeting with the MACC on Wednesday due to poor health.

After the first questioning session on Feb 11, Ismail Sabri was reported to have collapsed at home and was rushed to hospital on Feb 22. - March 7, 2025
