SARAWAK Parti Keadilan Rakyat branches concluded their annual general meetings on Sunday night with a united call for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to remain as party president.

All branches tabled and passed their respective resolutions for the incumbent party president to be returned unopposed in the national party assembly that will be convened later this year.

Sarawak PKR information and communications chief Senator Abun Sui Anyit today released an official statement on behalf of the 31 branches.

"Sarawak PKR has successfully concluded its AGM at every branch.

"The youth, wanita and the main wings in all the branches throughout Sarawak have passed their respective resolutions calling on incumbent party Anwar to be returned unopposed as party president for another term.

"The Sarawak PKR central leadership committee has received the resolutions.

"The resolutions will be made known to the PKR national leadership," said Abun who is PKR Hulu Rajang branch chief.

At the respective branches, many young potentials have emerged who could be future leaders of the state PKR, he said.

"Many youngsters with huge potential are stepping forward to offer themselves to serve in the youth, wanita and main wings at the branches.

"This is a welcomed development as it will lead to rejuvenation of PKR at the grassroot.

"These young people will then take over key positions at the party's state and national levels in the near future," he said.

All the branches in Sarawak are focussed on expanding their community outreach to the rakyat, he added. – March 11, 2025
