A TOTAL 17,500 nominations have been received from 222 PKR branches nationwide for the coming party election.

Election committee (JPP) chairman, Datuk Seri Dr. Zaliha Mustafa, said that this reflected the commitment of party members in ensuring a mature and inclusive democratic process.

"The close of the nomination process on March 16 marks another step in the election journey."

"Now, the election enters the next phase, which is the objection process which will take place from today to March 20 (Thursday)," she said.

According to her, after the objection period, the appeal process will be opened from March 24 to 25 to ensure transparency and fairness to all candidates contesting.

"For candidates who choose to withdraw or cancel their nomination, they are given the opportunity to do so before March 20."

"After going through all these processes, the final list of nominations for the branches, youth and women's wings will be announced on March 28," she explained.

She said, the JPP also reminded all candidates and supporters to adhere to the election procedures to ensure the process runs smoothly, transparently, and harmoniously.
