KUALA LUMPUR – A staffer on duty at the Bandaraya light rail transit station tested positive for Covid-19 two days ago, said Prasarana Malaysia Bhd.

In a statement today, the rail operator said the patient has been warded at Sg Buloh Hospital.

The employee was last on duty on December 19.

“According to our investigation, this is an incident in a closed area, and the staff member did not have any contact with commuters while on duty.

“Following this, the management conducted disinfection in the affected area on the night itself.”

Other staff who had close contact with the patient have been ordered to undergo Covid-19 screening and observe a 14-day self-quarantine.

“The management will closely monitor the development of this case, and work with the National Security Council and Health Ministry to ensure that Rapid Rail and Rapid Bus remain safe and comfortable for use.

“Trains used for all routes are subject to disinfection and cleaning daily during peak hours and after operations.

“Rapid Rail guarantees that the public transport service under its care is safe.” – The Vibes, December 26, 2020
