POLICE have identified and taken appropriate action against the personnel involved in an incident where a patrol car allegedly ran a red light.

The incident is believed to have occurred at the NSK intersection, Jalan Haruan 2, Seremban at about 12.20 am on September 16.

Seremban Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Hatta Che Din said they are aware that the incident had since gone viral on social media.

“The police confirmed that an investigation is underway and have identified the true circumstances surrounding the incident. After the investigation is complete, internal action will be taken against those involved,” he said.

He stressed that every policeman is subject to road regulations, except in certain circumstances involving emergency tasks and those requiring immediate action.

He said if the investigation finds a violation of procedures, appropriate action will be taken according to the law.

He urged the public not to speculate or spread unverified information that could cause confusion among the public.
