A BOY was found seriously injured after his neck was believed to have been slashed with a sharp weapon in an incident at a house in Parit Raja, Batu Pahat this morning.

The six-year-old victim was slashed on the right side of his neck, believed to have been slashed with a knife, with the incident only being discovered at around 5.30am.

Batu Pahat District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani said an investigation was launched as soon as he received a report from the victim's 40-year-old mother at 9am this morning.

He said, according to the woman, she woke up from her sleep and found the victim, who was also her son, seriously injured in the neck.

"The police have opened an investigation paper under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing serious injury using a weapon.

"However, it is still too early for the police to identify the motive for the incident," he said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the victim was reported to be in stable condition after undergoing surgery this morning.

Shahrulanuar said the police advised the public not to use social media to post anything without confirmation from the authorities.

"The case is being investigated under Section 15 of the Children's Act 2001," he said. – October 27, 2025
