PERIKATAN NASIONAL today announced its 40 candidates for the coming Sabah General Election, fielding three candidates from Gerakan and one from PAS.

Its chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said state PN chief Datuk Seri Ronald Kiandee will return to contest in Sugut after 35 years.

Kiandee has been Beluran MP for six terms since 1999, all under Umno until the last general election, when he contested as a PPBM member under the PN banner.

PAS’s first nominated assemblyman, Datuk Aliakbar Gulasan, will contest the Karambunai seat.

Parti Gerakan will also be fielding three candidates: William Ooi Hong Wee (Luyang), Elvis Koa Wei Yang (Tanjung Papat) and Mohd Firdaus Sylvester (Elopura).

One of the most anticipated battles will be Tuaran Srikandi chief Datin Tiaminah @ Siti Akinah Ele taking on Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor in Sulaman.

Ronald told the media that another seat under Bersatu that would be contested is Sindumin, whose candidate would be announced later. - November 11, 2025
