DATUK Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan has reportedly withdrawn from the race for the Tempasuk state seat in Kota Belud.

The Sabah Umno deputy chairman informed the party of his decision - just three days before the nominations.

This was confirmed by Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin.

"He will be replaced with Kota Belud Umno division chief Azwan Norjan,” said Bung.

As for the reason behind Rahman's decision, Bung said it was best to personally ask the former federal minister.

Rahman, who is also the former Kota Belud MP could not be reached for comment.

The Tempasuk seat is currently held by Gabungan Rakyat Sabah’s Datuk Arshad Bistari from Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah, who had won the constituency under a BN ticket.

GRS earlier announced that Arsat would be defending the seat. - November 12, 2025
