A DOUBLE-DECKER express bus carrying 40 passengers collided with a lorry on the North-South Expressway (PLUS) heading north near Rembau at approximately 3.45am today.

According to a spokesperson for the Negeri Sembilan Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), emergency teams received a distress call at 3.48am and the crew from the Kota Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the scene.

“The team arrived at 4.17am and found that the accident involved a double-decker express bus which had reportedly crashed into the rear of a lorry in the left-hand lane,” the spokesperson said.

The bus, carrying 40 passengers en route north, had its driver trapped at his seat by a leg injury. “A man, the bus driver, was pinned at his leg in his seat,” the spokesperson added.

Firefighters used specialised equipment to free the driver, who was then transported to Rembau Hospital for treatment.

“All 40 passengers were safe and unharmed. They are reported to have exited the bus immediately after the incident. The lorry driver also did not sustain any injuries,” the spokesperson confirmed.

The rescue operation concluded at 4.53am, and the case has since been handed over to the police for further investigation. - December 21, 2025
