A 13-YEAR-OLD girl was found dead after she is believed to have fallen from the 16th floor of a condominium in Tanjung Tokong, police said.

Timur Laut District Police Chief Abdul Rozak Muhammad said authorities received information from members of the public at about 6.45pm on the day of the incident.

He said preliminary investigations at the scene indicated that the local teenager is believed to have fallen from her residential unit on the 16th floor before being discovered unconscious on the 8th floor of the building at about 5.49pm.

"The teenager was later confirmed dead at the scene," he said in a media statement.

Further checks at the location and on the victim’s body did not reveal any elements of foul play.

"No criminal elements were found during investigations at the scene and examination of the victim’s body," he said.

The body has been sent to the Forensic Medicine Department at Hospital Pulau Pinang for a post-mortem examination.

The case has been classified as sudden death, and a sudden death report has been opened to facilitate further investigation. - April 21, 2026
