DAP has instructed the entire party machinery to prepare for the possibility of snap elections in Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor.

DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke said the matter was decided by the DAP Central Executive Committee (CEC), which held its monthly meeting last night at the DAP headquarters.

"The meeting discussed the latest developments in the political crisis in Negeri Sembilan and decided on five positions, among which was instructing the entire party machinery to prepare for the possibility of snap elections in the three states," he said in a statement today.

Loke also said that, in the meeting, DAP stressed another stance, namely that the party will not agree to any proposal to change the Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar at this time after the attempt to topple the existing Unity Government failed.

"DAP will continue to give full support to Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun as the Menteri Besar.

"DAP always respects and upholds the institution of the Constitutional Monarchy. All issues involving the institution of the Monarchy and Adat Pepatih must be resolved with full respect and order in accordance with the Constitution and the laws of the state.

"DAP thanks the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, for his order so that the State Government continues to function as usual under the administration of Aminuddin," he said. – May 5, 2026
