‘Prove your loyalty to the national unity government’ – Guan Eng tells UMNO
Do not justify trying to play the victim when the alleged conspirator is Umno, said Lim.

DAP adviser Lim Guan Eng has asked Umno to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that it remains loyal to the national unity government bloc and put an end to talk that it is a ‘traitor from within’.

"Stop becoming a traitor from within. Come back to the centre and support our Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar and the unity government in the next general election instead of going solo," Lim said.

Lim said this as speculations emerged that Negri Sembilan may need to conduct a fresh state election after the 14 Umno backbenchers withdrew support for the incumbent Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.

Responding to Umno vice-president Datuk Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, the Pahang Mentri Besar who criticised Lim for becoming a trouble maker, Lim said that Umno should remain part of the unity bloc and not against it.

"Wan Rosdy should not forget that the one causing problems now is not him nor DAP but Umno alone, who has conspired to seize power in Negeri Sembilan."

Do not justify trying to play the victim when the alleged conspirator is Umno, said Lim.

He asked how come the 14 Umno backbenchers in Negeri Sembilan continue not to back down from withdrawing support for Aminuddin.

"For the sake of unity and political stability, why is Umno Negeri Sembilan still stubborn on wanting a no-confidence attempt made against Aminuddin?"

As a senior Umno leader, Wan Rosdy should understand that only by supporting the present state government can the unity and stability return, said Lim.

"As a Menteri Besar himself, Wan Rosdy needs to understand that the fall of a state top leader would lead to the fall of the state government."

If Wan Rosdy resigns now, then the Pahang government would likewise be dissolved.

"It is time for Umno to prove its loyalty to the unity bloc and support us," stressed Lim. - May 7, 2026
