JOHOR Barisan Nasional (BN) is determined to contest solo in all 56 state assembly seats (DUN) in the upcoming State Election (PRN).

Johor Barisan Nasional (BN) Chairman, Onn Hafiz Ghazi, stressed that the decision was made after taking into account the views, voices and hopes of the people of Johor as well as the grassroots leadership of Umno-BN Johor regarding the party's direction ahead of the PRN.

According to him, the decision was also agreed upon after discussions with the party leadership.

"After discussing with the party leadership, I, with a sense of full conviction and responsibility, state that Johor BN will contest all 56 state assembly seats in the upcoming State Election.

“For Umno and BN Johor, the stance to contest in 56 state seats is a clear offer to the people that we are ready to continue to form a stable, strong government that fully serves the development of the state and the well-being of the Johor people,” he said in a statement.

The current BN-led administration secured a two-thirds majority in the 2022 Johor state election after winning 40 of the 56 seats.

The next Johor state election must be held by April next year, unless the state assembly is dissolved earlier. – May 16, 2026
