THE future of the nation rests on the moderate majority of citizens of goodwill and good intent. The people should not be taken in by ‘political monkeys’ and their ‘handlers’.
Chairman of the Petra Group and Sekhar Institute, Datuk Vinod Sekhar, said ‘political monkeys’ will continue performing circus acts and play to the crowd they are facing.
“They will continue doing this just to keep their jobs.
“We, the moderate majority, the true Malaysians, must never be influenced by them, regardless of what they wear or how colourful their dress or language is,” he said in a Facebook post.
Vinod said that by playing to the tune of these individuals, some citizens were reduced to second class, some were kept uneducated so certain groups could maintain power. And some care only about personal economic enrichment.
“These individuals only care about personal power and wealth, wielding a keris when it suits them and talking about togetherness when it doesn't. Talking culture, language or education with no regard for actual benefit or outcome.
“Some talk a lot about what they know you like to hear, but when given the chance, deliver nothing,” he said.
He said they come in all colours, and it is time for the people to realise and show that they are the masters and politicians are the servants.
“Overpaid, spoilt servants. A troupe of monkeys are a circus act - when they fail to perform or change as required, they can be replaced by another troupe.”
However, Vinod stressed that there are several nation builders and statesmen in our country withing the political landscape.
“But sadly, we have rewarded the colourfully dressed too often and ignored the nation builders that tell us what we need to hear, not what we want to hear. We can be dreamers, but we must be functional dreamers.
“It's time to listen, to hear, to act. To take the medicine, to give it to others, even when it tastes horrid. Because the sickness, if left untreated, can kill us.
“Show them who we are. Show them now,” he added. – June 22, 2026
