PDRM has opened a disciplinary investigation against one of its personnel, accused of insulting the local community while abroad.
Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Mohd Khalid Ismail, said the investigation is not only focused on disciplinary violations, but also covers possible offences under the law.
“We are investigating and have opened a disciplinary investigation against the personnel in question. We will also take appropriate action if other offences violate the law,” he said today.
He also reminded all police personnel to always maintain morals, discipline and the image of the force, whether on duty in the country or abroad.
"As uniformed personnel, we are bound by the rules and SOPs set. We need to maintain good conduct at all times, not only in the country but also when abroad," he said.
Mohd Khalid said that PDRM would ensure that the investigation was conducted fairly and transparently before any decision or further action was taken against the personnel involved.
"We will provide due justice, and the investigation will be conducted in accordance with the SOPs and the laws set," he said.
Recently, an influencer who is also in the police force went viral for allegedly insulting locals by shouting inappropriate words while covering her nose in a public place in China.
The controversy also received extensive coverage in foreign media, thus drawing anger from the public, including the local people. – June 23, 2026
