DATUK Seri Anwar Ibrahim today announced seven special incentives in conjunction with Felda's 70th anniversary, covering financial benefits, housing, education, health, digital literacy and welfare of settlers and agency staff.

The Prime Minister said, first, the government will provide a grant of RM990 million to finance the repayment of Sukuk loans, including the cancellation of settlers' debts.

For 2027, he said, the government will provide more than RM1 billion; however, he hopes that Felda Board Members and Management will practice governance at the highest level.

"The second incentive is that the government understands the anxiety of the new generation of Felda regarding housing issues, especially involving the concept of building Two Houses on One Lot (2R1L).

"The government will establish a committee to resolve legacy issues related to five main strategic initiatives involving second-generation settlers," he said when speaking at the 2026 Settlers' Day Celebration and Felda's 70th Anniversary celebrations today.

Commenting on the third incentive, Anwar said that since the listing of Felda Global Ventures (FGV), changes in the crude palm oil sales model have caused palm oil mill profits to plummet, affecting 28 per cent of the equity owned by the FELDA Capital Cooperative (KPF).

He said that to address the anxiety, the government will restore the crude palm oil sales model to the original system as before the listing of FGV.

"This move will provide a projected additional income benefit of up to RM42 million to all Felda Settlers through KPF," he said.

He said that for the fourth incentive, he said the government has agreed to approve a large allocation of RM450 million for a period of three years to fund the project to repair and build new Felda officer houses on planned land in stages.

The fifth incentive involves the benefits of digital literacy for settlers through the close synergy of the Ministry of Communications and the Digital Ministry, fully supported by the National Digital Network (JENDELA) infrastructure, which now spans planned and rural areas.

According to the Prime Minister, the government wants to produce a Felda generation who are not only skilled in navigating internet banking and cashless transactions but are also smart about maintaining the security of their digital media and able to explore new livelihood opportunities through digital businesses such as TikTok and Shopee.

“To realise this agenda, I announce an allocation worth RM15.85 million, which will involve 317 Felda plans eligible to receive RM50,000. Communities in each scheme can start submitting applications to channel this assistance,” he said.

Educational benefits for Felda students are the sixth incentive announced by Anwar, involving a special allocation of RM10 million to renovate schools in Felda areas that really need urgent assistance.

This, he said, will involve repairs in 269 primary schools and 101 secondary schools throughout the scheme land.

“The seventh incentive is health benefits for settlers. Last year, I myself launched the Felda Squad Health Team. This squad has successfully produced 1,555 volunteer members from among settlers, youth and the new generation and has carried out more than 18,000 health screenings in 371 schemes nationwide.

“Therefore, to ensure that this noble initiative continues to be strengthened, I announce an additional fund allocation of RM3 million for the Felda Virtual Squad,” he said.

The Prime Minister hopes that the seven initiatives can be fully utilised by all settlers, the new generation, and Felda staff to improve the well-being of everyone. – July 7, 2026
