PENAMPANG   In a veiled reference to peninsular hegemony over Borneo, former chief justice Tan Sri Richard Malanjum tonight said the Sabah election is an opportunity to teach a lesson to those trying to colonise the state.

He said Sabahans must deny the national parties a victory as the election tomorrow is not an ordinary one; it has been forced upon Sabahans.

“If we do not vote for Warisan and give a poll victory to Malayan (parties), Sabah will only end up as a state,” he said. “Forget about the Malaysia Agreement 1963, forget about state demands, forget about oil royalty, as we are just a colony.

“Therefore, we must never allow this… Do you want to be a colony? Do you want Sabah to be a colony?” said Malanjum to loud cheers at a rally organised by the Warisan Plus alliance at Buhavan Square in Penampang here tonight.

In urging voters to come out in full swing to vote for Warisan tomorrow, Malanjum said: “Before all you sleep tonight, take a look at the faces of your children, grandchildren and parents and think about who you will vote tomorrow, as their future now depends on that vote.” –  The Vibes, September 25, 2020
