KOTA KINABALU - Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) have filed four election petitions (EP) to nullify the poll results for Sindumin, Darau, Kukusan and Petagas.

The EPs were filed to the court by the party’s lawyers, well-placed sources told The Vibes.

Among the candidates who will be filing the petitions are:

  1. BN’s Sani Miasin who lost the Sindumin state seat to Warisan’s Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob by 424 votes
  2. BN’s Jumat Idris who lost the Darau state seat to Warisan’s Azhar Matussin by 562 votes.
  3. BN’s Chaya Sulaiman who lost the Kukusan state seat to Warisan’s Rina Hj Jainal by a razor-thin margin of 10 votes
  4. PN’s Arsit Sedi@ Sidik who lost the Petagas state seat to Warisan’s Awang Ahmad Sah by 261 votes

Sabah Umno youth chief Abdul Aziz Julkarnain confirmed that the party has decided to challenge results for the four seats.

He, however, did not confirm on what grounds were the petitions filed.

Abdul Aziz was also unable to verify the election petition filed by PN’s Arsit Sedi@ Sidik. – The Vibes, October 21, 2020.
