BERSATU President, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin pointed out that Perikatan Nasional (PN) is now indirectly supporting the Unity Government when it forms a political cooperation with Barisan Nasional (BN).

Muhyiddin said that the cooperation between PN and BN has caused a huge gap in Malaysian politics.

The Pagoh MP said that currently Bersatu is the sole opposition party in Parliament.

"Can Bersatu survive in the face of challenges and opposition from government and pro-government parties?

"For me, the issue is not whether it can survive, but must survive," he said in a statement, today.

Muhyiddin said that now there is no party truly competent to carry out checks and balances on government policies.

“UMNO and BN cannot cover up all weaknesses by blaming others for all the mistakes while reaping the benefits of being the government and ultimately hiding under the blanket of Penyatuan Ummah and Penyatuan Melayu to gain the support of the Malays.

"Believe me, this is just a play to deceive the Malays and the people in order to gain power.

"Bersatu is free from all these plays. Bersatu is determined to remain true to its goals and policies of fighting to defend the people and develop the country," he said. – July 18, 2026
