PAKATAN Harapan (PH) wants to continue expanding Negeri Sembilan's economic growth to ensure development spillovers and job opportunities are enjoyed more comprehensively if given a mandate in the State Election (PRN).
Senior Political Advisor to the Prime Minister, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, said that among the areas that need attention is to ensure that economic growth is not only concentrated in certain locations, but also spillovers to other areas, including Kuala Pilah.
The Chairman of the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) said the issue of job opportunities, especially for the young, was among those raised when he campaigned in the Pilah State Legislative Assembly (DUN).
"In areas like Kuala Pilah, the overflow may not be direct.
"I, too, at MIDA have discussed a lot about regional issues that have gaps in economic development," he said during the Kuala Pilah Town Walkabout Program.
Also present was PH candidate for the Pilah State Legislative Assembly (DUN), Datuk Noorzunita Begum Mohd Ibrahim.
Tengku Zafrul said that the previous PH-led state government had tried to expand economic growth areas, including through investment-related development.
"So we have to continue, and we can see that in Negeri Sembilan, we are indeed trying to expand the Malaysia Vision Valley (MVV), but at the same time, there are other projects around the Negeri Sembilan area so that (economic) growth is more even," he said.
Meanwhile, Noorzunita said that if given the mandate again, she would continue to focus on the people's issues, including job opportunities, education and the welfare of the elderly.
She said that job opportunities for young people were among the issues that residents often raised throughout her service as a State Assemblyman (ADUN).
"We want to increase job opportunities for young people. Gen Z. Those are the voices of young people I've heard during my time here.
"They talked to me as a candidate to provide many job opportunities in Kuala Pilah. Maybe we will look for an opportunity for investors to come in,” she said. – July 25, 2026
