FORMER prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Tuesday, marking seven decades of marriage.

Their son, Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir, took to social media to commemorate the milestone, sharing a message of appreciation and prayers for his parents.

Mukhriz, who is Parti Pejuang Tanah Air president, wished the couple continued good health, strength and happiness in this world and the hereafter.

“Happy 70th wedding anniversary. May Allah SWT continue to bless both of you with good health, a strong spirit and happiness in this world and the hereafter,” he wrote.

The post, accompanied by the hashtags #livelong and #loveforever, drew warm responses from members of the public, many of whom described the long marriage between Mahathir and Siti Hasmah as an enduring example of companionship.
