THE Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has lodged a police report over a forged approval letter for a proposed widening of the North-South Expressway (PLUS), involving the alleged misuse of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s name and the PMO’s official identity.
“The Prime Minister’s Office has lodged a police report over the forgery of documents and the misuse of the Prime Minister’s name and the official identity of the Prime Minister’s Office.
“Appropriate legal action will be taken against any party found to be involved,” the PMO said in a statement today.
The PMO said a letter dated July 17, 2026, claiming that the Cabinet had approved a Private Finance Initiative (PFI) project for works to widen the PLUS highway was fake.
It said Anwar had never issued or signed the letter and denied any connection with the document or the approval referred to in it.
“The public are advised not to be deceived by, disseminate or share the fake document,” it said. - September 17, 2026
