KUALA LUMPUR – Huckleberry has closed its outlet at Bangsar Shopping Centre after a kitchen staffer tested positive for Covid-19.
The restaurant, in an Instagram post, said the employee’s last day at work was last Thursday.
The outlet has been closed for deep cleaning and sanitisation.
“All our staff from the outlet – kitchen and front of house/service – are undergoing RT-PCR testing, and will undergo the necessary quarantine,” said the eatery’s statement.
It said staff do not move between outlets, and baked items are produced at its central kitchen.
“We, as a team, are deeply saddened by this development. Our thoughts and prayers are with our staff member and all those affected by Covid-19. May we stay strong and united during this trying time for the nation.”
Huckleberry is not the first outlet at the mall to close due to the coronavirus.
BSC was shut down on October 11 last year for sanitisation after an outlet employee was confirmed positive for Covid-19.
“We have just been informed of a Covid-19 case involving a retail staffer (Origani, Ground Floor),” said a post on the mall’s Facebook page. – The Vibes, January 11, 2021
