KUALA LUMPUR – Five Terengganu assemblymen are under home quarantine while waiting for their Covid-19 test results.

They are Bukit Tunggal rep Alias Razak, Ariffin Deraman (Alor Limbat), Wan Sukairi Wan Abdullah (Wakaf Mempelam), Mohd Nor Hamzah (Bukit Payong) and Hishamuddin Abdul Karim (Tepoh).

Harian Metro last night reported that Alias confirmed the matter, and that all five were close contacts of a Wisma Darul Iman staff member who tested positive for the virus.

“Wan Sukairi, Hishamuddin and I went for screening on Saturday, while Ariffin and Nor went today.”

The five are among a slew of politicians who are either in home quarantine or have tested positive for Covid-19.

On Thursday, Gua Musang MP Tan Sri Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah was confirmed positive for the disease.

He is said to be a close contact of Nenggiri assemblyman Ab Aziz Yusoff, who tested positive recently.
