MIRI – Sarawak PKR has called out state ruling coalition Gabungan Parti Sarawak’s (GPS) 18 MPs for not pushing for Parliament to reconvene.

State PKR information head Abun Sui, in a statement today, questioned why GPS is afraid of pushing for a Dewan Rakyat sitting.

“GPS MPs must have the guts to push their Perikatan Nasional partners to reconvene Parliament without delay.

“Why is it that GPS is silent in this? They consider themselves influential in the national government.

“So, why are these GPS MPs not pushing for Parliament to sit again so crucial national and state issues can be brought to the Dewan Rakyat?

“GPS must use its influence to pressure its PN partners to reconvene Parliament, otherwise it has to explain to the people why.”

Abun, a Miri-based lawyer, said the Yang di-Pertuan Agong had decreed that Parliament can convene despite the emergency order in place until August 1.
