KUALA LUMPUR – Police have opened an investigation into the alleged violation of Covid-19 standard operating procedures at the wedding of local celebrity Neelofa yesterday.
Dang Wangi district police chief Mohamad Zainal Abdullah, in a statement today, said organisers and the owner of the hotel where the event was held will be called up to facilitate the probe.
The investigation paper was opened in accordance with Section 21A of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988, he said.
“Investigations found that the ceremony that took place failed to comply with the SOPs, including failure to observe physical distancing.”
The 32-year-old Neelofa – full name Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor – married preacher Muhammad Haris Mohd Ismail, 26, at a top hotel here. – Bernama, March 28, 2021
