PETALING JAYA - The Ministry of Health (MOH) reported 354 new Covid-19 cases as of noon today, bringing the total number of infections nationwide to 14,722.
About 352 infections were locally transmitted while two were imported, according to Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
Currently there are 3,863 active cases, with 68 of them requiring intensive care and 25 on ventilator support.
Six more deaths were also reported today, bringing the total number of fatalities in the country to 152. All of the deaths happened in Sabah.
The majority of new infections were in Sabah with 274 cases, after more screenings were done by the MOH, especially in the seven districts under the enhanced movement control order (Emco).
“In Kedah, only 10 cases were recorded following the successful control of the Tembok cluster.
“In Selangor there were 24 cases, Kuala Lumpur 10 cases and two cases in Putrajaya," he said in a press conference on the MOH’s Facebook page today.
10 cases were reported in Sarawak, Penang (eight cases), Johor and Terengganu (five cases each), Negri Sembilan (four cases) and one case each in Perak and Labuan. – The Vibes, October 9, 2020
