MIRI – The central market in Miri city’s Chinatown has been ordered to close after a trader tested positive for Covid-19.

The city council today issued a directive to close the place for the next three days for sanitisation and decontamination.

It also advised members of the public to stay away from the area while sanitisation ops are being done.

This is the third time the market has been hit by Covid-19 infections.

In the past few months, there were two other cases of Covid-19 involving a trader and a customer at the market.

Miri is among the districts with high daily Covid-19 infections as well as high fatalities. – The Vibes, May 27, 2021
