LANGKAWI – A passenger ferry called Ekspres Bahagia anchored at Kuah jetty here started sinking last night, much to the curiosity of the locals.
However, no casualty was reported in the 8pm incident. The sinking was caught on video and clips were widely shared on social media.

Malaysian Maritime Department northern zone director Mohd Hafiz Abdul Majid confirmed the incident, saying it was reported about 10pm last night.
He added that the department has initiated an investigation into the incident.
“The six-year-old ferry was used to transport passengers from Langkawi to Kuala Perlis. It was inspected three days ago,” he said. – The Vibes, June 28, 2021
