KUALA LUMPUR - The Ministry of International Trade and Industry (Miti) has agreed to allow a maximum of 10% of those in management and supervisory posts to work on-site, following a work-from-home directive for public and private sectors in areas under CMCO.
“According to Miti's Covid-19 Intelligent Management System (CIMS) database, the number of employees registered in the manufacturing, services and construction sectors in Sabah, Labuan, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Putrajaya totalled 3.1 million people,” Miti Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali said in a statement.
“Following feedback from the industry, a total of 776,135 or 25% of workers were from supervisory and management posts.
“A maximum of 10% of workers whose task cover the areas of accounting, legal, ICT, administration, can work at their offices for a limited period of time.”
However, these workers would only be allowed to work at the office for a period of four hours from 10am to 2pm, three times a week.
“Companies need not get permission, but must issue a travel letter to their staff. Employers would also need to come up with a work from home guideline for their staff members.” – The Vibes, October 21, 2020
