Penang police chief Datuk Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said police had received an instruction regarding the compound notice against Sanusi, to be issued soon.

“Confirmation of the (compound) order has been received and it will be extended to the Menteri Besar’s Office soon. Further information will be released after the order has been served on Sanusi.

“An official statement from the Penang police contingent headquarters will be issued soon after the handover (of compound) is done,” he said when contacted today.

According to earlier reports, the case was investigated under Section 269 of the Penal Code and Regulation 17(1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures Within Infected Local Areas) Regulations 2021.
